2021 Lunar New Years Celebration

UBC’s Korean Language Program Presents:

One wish, one dish: 2021 Lunar New Years Celebration

Online Celebration Guidelines for Participants

Lunar New Year is a time of celebration and a time to set our eyes toward the new year with good wishes and sentiments! As we welcome the year of the Ox, we are also welcoming a year of good fortune and hard work. The bright lights, the sounds, and the bustle of Lunar New Year festivities will look a little different this year. During quarantine, many have created their personal opportunities to get creative in their own homes. The Korean Language program also invites you to get creative as we celebrate one of the biggest holidays in East Asia, “apart, but together!”

    3. Examples

Photo of a word Caption

1. Beginner level

(30+ words)

단어: 여행

An example paragraph from a Beginner-level learner

저는 여행을 아주 좋아해요. 저는 예전부터 항상 한국에 가고 싶었어요. 그래서 작년에 한국어 공부를 시작했어요. 그런데 코로나 바이러스 때문에 여행을 갈 수 없었어요. 올해는 꼭 한국에 여행을 가고 싶어요. 그리고 한국에서 내가 좋아하는 가수의 콘서트도 보고 싶어요.

2. Low-Intermediate level

(50+ words)

단어: 건강

An example paragraph from an lower-intermediate-level learner

3. High-Intermediate/

Advanced level

(80+ words)

단어: 일상

An example paragraph from an high-intermediate/advanced-level learner
